Prime Plaza Suites Sanur - Bali E - news | March 2026 Connect With Us

March 2026 is a wonderful time to visit Bali as the island comes alive with meaningful traditions and cultural celebrations. Throughout the month, you may encounter special moments such as Tumpek Wayang, Pengerupukan with the vibrant Ogoh-Ogoh parade, the peaceful Nyepi Day of Silence, and the lively Omed-Omedan celebration. It’s a perfect opportunity for families to experience the cultural side of Bali together while staying in the relaxed coastal area of Sanur.

If you are travelling to Bali this March, we recommend packing light and comfortable clothing suitable for the tropical weather, along with a few modest pieces such as shirts with sleeves or a sarong if you plan to visit temples or observe local ceremonies. Comfortable footwear, sun protection, and light evening wear are also helpful, especially for families exploring the area during the day.

In this edition, we highlight several cultural moments happening this month, including our Odalan celebration at the property, our relaxing Nyepi Stay Package, the special promotion for longer stay, and tips on where to watch the colorful Ogoh-Ogoh Parade around Sanur. These experiences offer a great way for families to introduce children to Bali’s traditions while enjoying a memorable holiday together.

Odalan Celebration at Prime Plaza Suites Sanur

Odalan Celebration at Prime Plaza Suites Sanur

On 3 March, we celebrated Odalan at Prime Plaza Suites Sanur, marking the temple anniversary according to the Balinese Saka Calendar. This meaningful ceremony is an important spiritual moment in Balinese culture, when prayers and offerings are presented to honor the temple.

The celebration took place at the temple within the Suites area, where our team gathered for prayers and ceremonial offerings. The atmosphere was further enriched with traditional Balinese dance performances presented as a form of devotion, creating a beautiful cultural moment within the property.

Guests staying at the resort also had the opportunity to witness this special occasion and experience an authentic glimpse of Balinese tradition up close. As Odalan only takes place once a year, it is a rare cultural moment that reflects the deep spiritual heritage of Bali.

Where to Watch the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Bali

Where to Watch the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Bali

On the evening of Pengerupukan, just before Nyepi, the streets across Bali come alive with the vibrant Ogoh-Ogoh parades. These giant statues, created by local communities, are carried through village streets accompanied by traditional music and festive crowds, creating one of the most exciting cultural moments on the island.

For guests staying in Sanur, parades are commonly seen around the southern Sanur area near Mertasari Beach and surrounding village streets. Visitors can also find lively celebrations in other popular areas of Bali, such as Denpasar, particularly around Puputan Badung Square and Catur Muka Statue.

In Kuta, parades are often held along the main roads near Kuta Beach, while in Ubud, visitors can usually spot the celebrations around the village center near Ubud Palace. Local communities in Nusa Dua and Jimbaran also organize their own parades in nearby village streets, creating festive gatherings throughout the evening.

Because each local banjar organizes its own procession, routes and timings may vary every year. The best way to experience the celebration is simply to explore nearby streets in the late afternoon or evening and follow the sound of music and crowds. It’s a lively and unforgettable moment to witness Bali’s traditions before the island enters the peaceful silence of Nyepi.
