Ubud Writers & Readers Festival

The highly-anticipated Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is returning to the island from the 19th to the 22nd of October. This is an exciting year for the festival as it celebrates its 20th anniversary with a gathering of illustrious novelists, journalists, poets, academics, and writers and an array of thrilling events.

Guests can look forward to insightful conversation, thoughtful debate, and joyful celebration of literary culture. Alongside author in-conversations and panel discussions are a wide-ranging offering of Indonesian dance and performance, literary lunches, guided tours of Ubud’s famous markets, temples and rice fields, late-night comedy, musical, and spoken word galas, as well as book launches, workshops, and events.

Coastal Clean-Up

We’re delighted to share that the most recent coastal clean-up initiative with the Bali Hotel Association was a resounding success.

On 16 September 2023, the staff of Prime Plaza Suites Sanur, alongside 14 other hotels, the wider tourism community and members of the industry came together to collect plastic pieces & rubbish along Sanur’s shoreline. 

We began at 7 a.m. and covered all of the main beaches in Sanur including Sindhu Beach, Karang Beach, Cemara Beach, Padang Galak and Segara Ayu Beach. A total of 143.29kg of rubbish and plastics were properly disposed of and processed by the local processing plant.

This initiative was spearheaded by the Bali Hotel Association and is an important undertaking for us at Prime Plaza Suites Sanur. Ocean and environmental preservation is important to us and we look forward to sharing even more positive updates with you in the near future.

Enjoy a close-up of our Chef’s intricate cooking techniques from preparation to cooking and serving. Watch closely as the Chef shares much-beloved Balinese culinary secrets passed down from generation to generation.

The cooking class is available to all guests every Thursday at IDR 290,000+++ per person for a minimum of 2 persons. Children ages 5-12 can participate at half price. You’ll get a Balinese apron, a traditional Balinese hat, a Balinese shawl, a certificate and a digital group photo.
