Things To Do: Bali Bird Park

The Bali Bird Park is a fantastic option if you’re looking for a fun day out for the whole family. The park is so much more than just an aviary for birds; it is, in fact, a beautiful nature sanctuary that sprawls over 2000 sqm of lush green land. Located in verdant Gianyar just an hour away from Prime Plaza Suites Sanur, the Bali Bird Park is home to approximately 250 species of birds from Indonesia, Africa, Latin America, and Australia and over 2000 species of indigenous plants. 

The park is divided into seven “areas”, which were all designed to recreate the birds’ natural habitats. Guests can “travel” through the jungles of Sumatra and Papua to discover the native birds from these regions, as well as South American exotics such as the Golden Macaw and the Congo Grey Parrot from the African Savannah. There are also educational bird shows, feeding activities and plenty of opportunities for great photographs!

Bali Bird Park works closely with the local government to protect and conserve Indonesia’s endangered wildlife with a successful bird breeding programme for a large number of bird species, in particular the endangered Bali Starling (Jalak Bali) and the rare Pesquet’s Parrot.
