Bali International Triathlon 2019

Bali International Triathlon is back! This year is going to be larger than the previous ones. The event will be held in Sanur Beach and other area on November 10th, 2019.  This event will mark Bali in the sporting calendar as well as showcase Bali’s amazing nature. 

There are some categories of races for both men and women, individual and team relay races. here is an Olympic Distance Event which consists of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run; a Sprint Distance Event which consists of a 500m swim, 20km bike ride and a 5km run; and there is also a 5km fun run. 

The age categories are divided by gender and age and are set apart by five year age bands, from 16-year-olds up to 60yrs+. For age-group qualification, all 16 and 24-year-olds will be grouped as one Under 24 age category. Spectators are welcome to come and watch the events and will be guided to appropriate viewing spots by the marshals on site.

Tours With A Purpose

On October 17th 2019 PricewaterhouseCoopers from Singapore held an offsite incentive and team building exercise at our sister property the Prime Plaza Hotel Sanur – Bali.

300 people took part in the event which also included a CSR component. During the event, one of the activities was to build a bike. Observers from 24 teams were taken into a separate room to observe how the bike was to be built. The observers then went back and had to communicate on how to assemble the bike with team members, without touching the tools or the bike parts. Teams had to assemble the bikes from scratch, ultimately 24 bikes were built by the participants.

Our General Manager, Mr. Stuart Bolwell recommended Solemen as beneficiaries of the 24 high quality bikes. Solemen presented a short video to the PWC teams and the winning team also designed a business plan with a FEASIBILITY, SUSTAINABILITY, PROFITABILITY & SOCIAL IMPACT in mind. The idea of ‘Tours with a purpose” was put forward by team 20. Solemen and the winning team from Singapore are now working together to further develop the business plan with a launch scheduled towards the end of the year.
